1. What is the number of vacancies available? 

Total- 7227 ( UR 2971,SC 1406,ST 430,OBC A 716,OBC B 505,PH (LV) 120,PH (LDCP) 89,PH,(HI) 109.MSP 186,SC (LDCP) 60,Ex SM 476, SC(Ex SM) 159 )

2. On what basis has the number of candidates qualifying for the Part II Exams been decided? 

10 Candidates per vacancy

3.  Why is the number of qualified candidates a little less than 10 times the vacancies? 

While additional candidates with the same score as the cut-off mark in each category have been included, sufficient candidates were not available in some categories. 

4. Will the number secured by a candidate in the Part I Exam be added to that obtained in the Part II Exam? 

Yes. Category wise merit list would be prepared on the basis of the aggregate of marks obtained in Part I and Part II Exams.

5. How many candidates would be called for the Computer Typing Test?

Candidates would be called for Computer Type Test as per the vacancies noted at Serial 1 above. If some candidates fail to qualify in the Computer Type Test, an equal number of candidates in the same category in order of merit would be called. 

6. Are the candidates required to produce any certificate regarding Computer Knowledge and/ or Typing? 

No

7. What are the qualifying standards for Computer Typing? 

English – 20 WPM, Bengali – 10 WPM 

8. What will be the language in which Computer Test would be taken?

English or Bengali

9. Will the PH candidates be allowed additional time for the Written Test? 

Yes, 20 mins extra time would be allowed to PH (LV) and PH (LDCP) candidates 

10. At the time of final selection, will there be separate merit lists for different categories of PH candidates or a single merit list for all PH Candidates? 

There will be separate Merit Lists for PH (LV), PH (LDCP) and PH (HI) candidates

11. Is it possible to correct mistakes made during filling up the online form, like the choice of posting, category and other particulars, choice of language etc. ? 

No

12. Will the Part II Exam be conducted by PSC in Kolkata only?

There will be 4 Centres at Kolkata, Siliguri, Asansol and Behrampore
