Preliminary Exam

Total Marks: 200

No. Of Questions: 100

Time: 2 hour

Type Of Question: MCQ

Negative Marks: Yes ( 1/4)

General Studies: 100  ( 50 Question)  Logical and Analytical Reasoning: 50 ( 25 Questions) Arithmetic: 50 ( 25 Questions)

WB Police Sub Inspector PMT Test

Candidates must have physical Measurements as mentioned in the below box - 

Male Candidates

Female Candidates 

Candidates of all categories (except Gorkhas,Garhwalies,Rajbanshis and Scheduled Tribes):

 Height - 160cm & Weight- 48kg 

For Gorkhas, Garhwalies, Rajbanshis, and Scheduled Tribes: Height - 155cm & Weight- 45kg 

WB Police Sub Inspector PET Test

Male Candidates: 800(Eight hundred) meters run within 03 (Three) minutes. Female Candidates: 400( Four hundred) meters run within 02 (two) minutes.

Final Combine Examination

Total Marks: 200

Total Paper : 3 ( General Studies, Reasoning, Maths - 100, English - 50, Bengali/Nepali/Urdu - 50)

Total Time: 4 hours 

Paper I: General Studies, Reasoning, and Arithmetic for 100 Marks ( 50 marks General Studies and Reasoning 25 + Arithmetic 25 marks) - Time 2 hr. Paper-II: 50 Marks ( 1 hr Time) Paper III: Bengali /Hindi/ Urdu for 50 Marks ( 1 hr time)

Personality Test

Full Marks - 30

A limited number of the candidates selected merit-wise on the results of the Final Combined Competitive Examination will be called on to appear at the Personality Test. The minimum pass mark for the personality test will be 08(eight).

B. Paper-II and Paper III of the Final Combined Competitive Examination:-

(i) Paper-II – English: Questions may be asked on all or any of the following items:-
a. Drafting of a report from the points or material supplied;
b. Translation from Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali, as the case may be to English,
c. Condensing of a prose passage (summary/precis)
d. Correct use of words, correction of sentences, use of common phrases, synonyms, and
antonyms, etc.

(ii) Paper III – Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali:-
 Questions may be asked on all or any of the following items:-
a. Drafting of a report from the points or material supplied;
b. Translation from English to Bengali and English to Nepali for the candidates who have opted
for ‘Bengali’ or ‘Nepali’ respectively and translation from Hindi/Urdu to Bengali for the
candidates who have opted for Hindi or Urdu.
The translation shall be of 20(twenty) marks.
